Aloha and welcome to our AAUW Windward O'ahu Branch website.  The purpose of this website is to provide information to our members, introductory information to our website visitors and serve as a link to the national AAUW website.  We hope you will become interested in learning more about our organization and perhaps join us as a member.

Founded in 1881, the American Association of University Women had a mission to promote practical educational work.  Now AAUW's mission has expanded to include AAUW's Educational Foundation which works to advance educational and professional opportunities for women in the United States and around the globe and AAUW's Legal Advocacy Fund which works to combat sex discrimination in higher education and the workplace.  There are over 100,000 members, 1,300 branches and 500 college and university partners.

The AAUW Windward O'ahu Branch is one of eight branches in the state of Hawaii.  We are the largest of the eight branches with 100 members.  Regular membership is open to women who hold a degree from an accredited college or university, including a two-year degree Associate degree.  Our branch also offers an Interest Group membership open to individuals who share our vision but do not have the degree.
